We kindly request the following five points when applying for arrangement permission (including cover apFor arrangement licensing requests (including cover requests) and the creation of sheet music for sale, we ask that you observe the following five points.

1. Please respect the character of the original work and arrange it in a manner that does not infringe the writer’s moral rights

• If you wish to alter the melody line, change the length of the piece, or make any other change to the character of the original work — or if you have any concern that your intended arrangement may conflict with this point — please let us know, and we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.

2. Please provide credit and a copyright notice

• Regarding credit
  • In every place where credit appears, please list the name of the arranger (or transcriber) alongside the lyricist and composer credits.
  • If circumstances make it impossible to list them together, please still display the arranger’s name with prominence comparable to the lyricist and composer credits, in a manner that leaves no room for the arrangement or sheet music to be mistaken for Yoko Kanno’s own.
• Regarding the copyright notice
  • For works we administer, the notice is, as a rule, “© [year of production] Meow on the Bridge Inc.”
  • For works administered by other companies, please confirm the correct notice with the primary publisher.
• Regarding placement (applies to both credit and copyright notice)
  • For products, please display the credit on the product itself, as well as in the product description or another location where it can be viewed prior to purchase.
  • For YouTube videos and the like, if the credit is not included in the video itself, please provide the credit and copyright notice at least in the description field or a comparable location.

3. Please file the appropriate usage application with JASRAC (or another copyright management organization)

4. Please do not use the music for criminal or antisocial purposes, for political advocacy, or for similar purposes

• Your agreement to this point is a condition of our license.

5. If you wish to use the music to promote a company, organization, product, or the like, please inform us in advance

• We will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that arranging music for the purpose of selling sheet music based on sheet music sold by us is not permitted under the terms of sale for that sheet music. In such cases, a separate license agreement is required. (Use for performance purposes, whether paid or unpaid, poses no problem.)
